Warcaster: Marshalling your Battle Forces

Kickstarters are a funny thing—they allow us to not only get new and exciting products out to our audience, but they also give us a level of interaction with all of you we don’t normally see on a traditional webstore. So, when we heard you asking for new pledge levels…we listened!

Apart from several other new pledge levels being updated, the one that I’m most excited about is the new Full Battle Forces for the original three Warcaster: Neo-Mechanika Factions. With one click of a button, you’ll be receiving a full army – you don’t need to worry about anything besides building, painting, crushing your enemies, seeing them be driven before you, and hearing the lamentation of their models. So, you know, fairly standard stuff.

The original full battle forces from the first Warcaster Kickstarter were very solidly designed—they had a great mix of every option and were a solid baseline to go out and further customize your forces. My goal was to take that and modify it so that we had as much new stuff as possible!

For the Aeternus Continuum, I’ve gathered together this list:

  • 2 x Immortal Weaver solos
  • 2 x Scourge variant A
  • Scourge variant B
  • Nemesis variant B
  • 2 x Marauder solos (1 variant sculpt!)
  • 2 x Grater solos
  • Vassal Witch Hunters squad
  • 2 x Vassal Reavers squads
  • 2 x Vassal Raiders squad
  • Raker attachment

With a glut of Scourges, you can use their Force Rods, Reapers, and Entrophiers to control the board while your Grafters buff your squads, and your Raker backs up your Vassal squads, finally bringing in the big guns with the new Nemesis Variant B to finish off anyone that so much as looks at you sideways!

For the Iron Star Alliance, I’ve put this together:

  • 2 x Paladin Weaver solos (1 variant sculpt!)
  • 2 x Firebrand variant A
  • Firebrand variant B
  • Morningstar variant B
  • 2 x Paladin Commander solos
  • 2 x Paladin Siegebreaker solos
  • Paladin Annihilator squad
  • 2 x Paladin Enforcer squads
  • 2 x Paladin Defender squads
  • Paladin Aegis attachment

By attaching that Paladin Aegis to your Paladin Annihilators, you’ve suddenly got a very survivable heavy weapons squad you can use to start clearing the way for your Enforcers and Defenders to hold down scenario objectives for you. Once you establish that foothold, really, really remind your opponent that you mean business and bring in your four warjacks and two Siegebreakers to swat away anything that dares to get near your objectives.

Not to be outdone, here’s what we’ve got for the Marcher Worlds:

  • 2 x Coalition Weaver solos
  • 2 x Dusk Wolf variant A
  • Dusk Wolf variant B
  • Strike Raptor variant B
  • 2 x Hunter solo
  • 2 x Combat Engineer solo
  • Ranger Heavy Support squad
  • 2 x Ranger Fire Team squads
  • 2 x Ranger Infiltrators squad
  • Warden attachment

Using your Infiltrators and Hunters to sneak around the table, picking off Weavers and solos that would give you any trouble, so you can bring in your Fire Teams and warjacks to take objectives and keep the enemy at bay! By attaching your Warden to your Infiltrators squad, you can increase their survivability against enemy Furies, making them even more of a thorn in the side of your opponent!

So, there you have it—three all-around lists that give you a good baseline to start (or grow) your Faction, including plenty of options you can add in or remove to create an army matching any playstyle! Just about 24 hours remain in the Collision Course Kickstarter Campaign, make sure to check it out here!
