P3 Grandmasters at Adepticon

Well, here we are in the middle of January, and AdeptiCon is just around the corner. As some people here in the office would say, it is, in fact, literally tomorrow. Not literally, you understand, but literally. And whether you’re working at the convention, playing in one of the events we’re holding, or painting models for the many competitions at the con, it certainly feels like time is just slipping away. After all, there are only so many hours in the day but so many more models yet to be painted.

For many years the Crystal Brush was the premier painting competition of convention season, and when it was announced it was coming to an end, we had many conversations in-house about the event we would hold in its absence. Obviously we couldn’t not hold a P3 Grandmaster painting competition, but what could we offer as a prize that painters desired (beyond the accolades and respect of their peers)?

The answer ended up being surprisingly obvious: painters want paint.

The Grand Prize for this year’s P3 Grandmaster painting competition at AdeptiCon will be the entire Formula P3 line, and the winner of each category will receive $500 in store credit (to get even more miniatures to paint)!

You can find all of the rules for the competition here.

Additionally, alongside AdeptiCon’s Armies on Parade, we’ll be holding our own event we’re calling Display It Painted. Like Armies on Parade, it will feature fully painted forces for our games on custom display boards or carrying trays, and it will have a prize pool separate from the P3 Grandmaster painting competition.

We’re looking forward to seeing what the talented artists and fans of our games can do this year, but if you also want to get some games in, we’re hosting a number of events that will keep attendees busy for the entirety of the long weekend. You can learn more about those in this Insider written by Travis Marg.

We can’t wait to see you guys there. Literally tomorrow!*

*(Note: AdeptiCon is NOT literally tomorrow. Please don’t start driving to Chicago tonight.)
