I’m in deep trouble, and I need your help. This year, at Lock & Load GameFest, I have the opportunity to do something so unique and challenging I can’t possibly pull it off on my own. We are going to design and sculpt a model before your very eyes, and most importantly, with your input.

One aspect of previous Lock & Load events I enjoyed was interacting directly with attendees and giving them an exclusive look into our model creation process. Whether giving a sneak peek at an unrevealed work-in-progress or getting to answer your questions, I am always delighted to give something back to the people who keep me employed: you! However, this year, I had a radical idea. What if we take the experience one step further? What if instead of giving Lock & Load attendees a look into the model creation process, we let them actively participate? What if you, the attendees, and me, the sculptor, team up for one crazy weekend and create a unique model we can look back on and tell our friends we helped bring it to life? That sounds so cool! The initial thought alone made me so excited I almost overlooked the fact that this is insane . . .

Creating models is serious business at Privateer Press. I work as part of a highly skilled team, with each person doing their part to ensure we bring you a quality product. Each model we release goes through numerous iterations and survives rigorous evaluations from numerous design and production professionals. I certainly don’t do it on my own. These things take time and a team of seasoned veterans, which is exactly why I need your help at Lock & Load!

Come join me on Friday, in the Hobby Lounge, to brainstorm ideas and devise a plan of attack. If you can’t attend the Friday meeting, you’re not off the hook, though! With such an insanely tight deadline, it is impossible to foresee all challenges and wrinkles in the plan. I will need your input and feedback in real time, as I spend the rest of the weekend sculpting like a maniac. With some luck and a steady stream of caffeine, we’ll complete our project Sunday, so we can see the fruits of our joint labors before we go home. This is a unique opportunity for you and me to unleash our wild imagination and create a memorable Lock & Load model. Don’t miss it!
