Fools Rush In, the official intro adventure to the Iron Kingdoms Full Metal Roleplaying Game, was unleashed a few weeks ago. This adventure is a great entry point into the setting, as well as a fantastic way to learn the game’s basic mechanics. Since Fools Rush In was released, Press Gangers across the world have been demoing the adventure for players interested in the game.
Like most passionate individuals, the Press Gang likes to go above and beyond when it comes to demoing games and running events. Sometimes they even go above and beyond going above and beyond, like the gentleman I’ll be spotlighting in today’s Insider.
Chris, a.k.a. PG LazyPeon, is a recent addition to the best volunteer force in the world, having just joined us this summer. One of the reasons Chris originally applied to become a PG was to help promote and showcase the Iron Kingdoms RPG. As soon as the intro adventure was available, Chris set himself to the task of ensuring his demos would be something special, something players would remember.
How did he do that, you ask? By transforming the 2D maps from the adventure into 3D! His goal was to create something simple yet evocative for the players to enjoy. The real trick was to create 3D maps that would look great but not get in the players’ way as they moved their figures around the board during combat. Check out his 3D Sullen Wench map.

I’ve played this adventure several times, and I’ll be honest, I want to play it again on these maps. Here’s to Chris and all of the other Press Gangers around the world introducing players to the world of the Iron Kingdoms. I hope all of you enjoy playing this adventure as much as the Press Gang enjoys running it.
