Grover Hollenbach is the company mechanik for the Devil Dogs – a one hundred and eighty year old mercenary company specializing in bringing down the heaviest of warmachines with a mix of gear, luck, and bravery.
Now responsible for maintaining the Dog company’s equipment, warjacks, and foundry, Hollenbach was once an apprentice to the Fraternal Order of Wizardry in Merin. After discovering the myriad wonders of mechanika, Grover dropped out of the Wizards order, and took on the mantle of a mechanik for the Ordic militia. Through a series of misadventures and close scrapes with both Khadoran forces and Cryxian interlopers, he managed to build a massive knowledge of maintaining vintage Cygnaran warjacks for the Ordic crown.
After a long and successful career repairing broken down machinery, Hollenbach quit the Ordic militia and moved to Five Fingers to start up his own foundry. The result was a disaster, and after a run-in with local crime lords—thanks to a few poorly chosen financial decisions—he was soon running for his life. Luckily, word of a mercenary outfit in Midfast in sore need of a mechanik reached his ears. Hollenbach stole away to Midfast “the Shield of Ord” to present himself to Sam MacHorne leader of the Devil Dogs. MacHorne’s desire to modernize her company’s gear and Hollenbach’s aptitude for mechanika were a perfect match.
