Stormbreak League Conclusion

The Stormbreak League reporting has officially ended, and it’s time to tally up the results. If you haven’t heard, the first half of this year our Organized Play events tell the epic saga of the war for Llael’s liberation.

It all began with the Winter Rampage 2019 event, where player results determined which nation took control of Riversmet. Here, the Resistance-backed Liberators smashed the Khadoran supporting Invaders, and took the city back for its original inhabitants.

In the Stormbreak League, the battle spilled over into the massive city of Merwyn, where it has been rumored Khadoran engineers have been working on a strange new superweapon unlike anything the Iron Kingdoms have seen before.

Players joined one of three agendas for this league: Liberators (fighting for the Llaelese Resistance), Invaders (fighting for the Khadoran occupation of Llael), or Opportunists (fighting for their own profit and glory).

The battles took place via league-specific scenarios that detailed the residential, temple, market, and warehouse districts of Merwyn. In the end, the Liberators earned yet another victory!

Across all the battle reports sent in (and thank you to everyone for sending so many of them), the win percentages for each agenda broke down as follows:

  • Liberator (40% Victory)
  • Opportunist (32% Victory)
  • Invader (28% Victory)

Oof—it is not looking good for the Motherland. Llael may very well fall back into the hands of the Resistance, but will Khador be able to extract their superweapon from Merwyn? Well, there’s one event left to tell that story.

The last chapter of the saga takes place at Lock & Load GameFest 2019, where players in the narrative event will battle over (and literally on top of!) the Khadoran superweapon on a set of custom tables being created by our very own Danny Samuels. If Khador’s weapon is extracted from Llael, you can be sure they’ll come back to take the nation with a vengeance. We will find out soon!

In the meantime, enjoy some of the photos that were submitted by players during the Stormbreak League!
