The Second Invasion
Driven from the shores of Immoren more than four centuries ago by the concerted, desperate efforts of the inhabitants they had long sought to enslave, the Orgoth have now returned with a vengeance.
The dark reavers first arrived from the sea twelve hundred years past and stormed the shores of western Immoren in such numbers that nearly all the nations of western Immoren succumbed to their brutal assault. Only Rhul and Ios were left standing against them, and their hopes of survival were few. Seemingly abandoned by even their gods in the face of Orgoth savagery and dark magic, human civilization languished for six hundred years under the yoke of Orgoth rule, horrifically sacrificed in vast numbers to their infernal allies and slaved to their unspeakable pursuits.
In time, however, humanity found ways to fight back against the Orgoth, first by turning the Gift of Magic against them, and then by devising the fundamentals of alchemy and mechanika to develop new weapons for which the Orgoth were completely unprepared. The subsequent Rebellion lasted for two hundred brutal years, ultimately succeeding in driving the Orgoth back to whence they came, the peoples of the shattered continent hoping that retreat was for good.
But that was not to be.
The Orgoth have now returned with their dark host further empowered by vicious new weapons inspired by those that led to the downfall of their first invasion. Backed by savage warjacks and armed with crude but powerful firearms and now dominated by the warwitches who once acted only in the service of the warlords who wrought the previous invasion, the Orgoth have painstakingly prepared for this conquest for a generation.
And when they struck, they did so without warning, leaving their first target, Khador, utterly unprepared for the battle ahead, decimating all opposition both on land and at sea…
