Privateer Press is pleased to announce the addition of two cosplay opportunities available for immediate registration!

Both events are hosted by Kali Martinez of Wicked Art Creations  (Facebook; Instagram), and both are free to participate in with your paid ticket to Lock & Load GameFest 2019!

You have likely seen Kali’s work before if you crossed paths with her in 2017’s Lock & Load Cosplay Contest winning Morghoul costume. Kali comes this year in a brand-new costume, sure to be a crowd pleaser. And how she’s ready to teach you how to get in on the astonishing world of cosplay.

Can you guess this year’s costume?

COSPLAY: THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE STRUGGLE (Seminar)

Friday, June 21: 1 P.M. – 3 P.M. (unlimited)

You want to participate in cosplay but have no idea where to begin. Or you’ve taken the plunge to commit, but don’t know how to find resources. Whether you’re making a single prop to display at home or designing a full-blown costume to wear to cons for the next twenty years, this class will get you rolling.

Among the topics:

  • Choosing a Concept
  • Pattern Making
  • Materials and How to Work with Them
  • From Art to Armor (and How to Cut Corners in Between)

And of course, open Q&A!

Register now to participate in this Q&A seminar!

COSPLAY: HANDS-ON (Class)

Saturday, June 22: 1 P.M. – 4 P.M. (space limited to 10 participants, ages 14+ or parental supervision required)

Time to build! Kali will have on-hand everything you need to craft your very own project (bracer, helmet, or weapon) and successfully complete it, step-by-step, during Lock & Load—and it need not be from the Skorne Faction (despite her personal preferences…)

Learn to work with Worbla and other tools of the trade as you craft your unique piece. Whether it’s your first build or just your latest, this is your chance to take home a piece of cosplay that will show off your skills and set you on the path for your next costume!

Register now to participate in this hands-on cosplay building class!

(Note: Attending the seminar will be beneficial but not necessary to participate!)
