Well, hello there! My name is Jeff Olsen, and I’m the (new) Playtest Coordinator at Privateer Press. It’s possible you’ve seen me around on social media, in community groups, and most recently on Privateer Press streams like the Dev Hangout and Get Your Paint On. If you haven’t yet, make sure to tune in to get a glimpse of my cherubic face!
It’s also likely you may get an opportunity interact with me at upcoming conventions throughout the year. Please be sure to say hello!
When I’m not busy doing those things, you can usually expect me to be behind a keyboard working on a variety of tasks to help make WARMACHINE & HORDES, Monsterpocalypse, and Riot Quest even awesomer hobbies to participate in.

Specifically, a lot of my responsibilities involve coordinating both external (like CID) and internal playtests, maintaining our developer presence in community groups, answering questions, and compiling your feedback so we can get a clear picture of how we want to develop model rules.
As for myself, I’ve been playing miniatures games for about 26 years; miniatures wargaming has been my primary passion and hobby. Prior to working fulltime for Privateer Press, you may have known me as the Event Coordinator (and later, Assistant Manager) for the Bellevue, Washington, location of Mox Boarding House. While there, I ran a variety of large-scale WARMACHINE & HORDES events, like the Seattle Open, Mox Mayhem, and the Lock & Load Preshow. I also built a large and consistent community for the game, and in my three years at that location running events, I regularly ran three (yes, three!) tournaments each month for WARMACHINE & HORDES. So, I’ve “been around the block” a few times.
As for what’s coming next…I’m excited to get more MonPoc under my belt, and to that end, I just ordered the models for a Lords of Cthul force. Also, after every playtest session, I get more and more excited for Riot Quest.
Oh, yeah, I can’t forget to mention…I cannot even begin to express how hyped I am for Infernals.
Anyways, I’m excited to be part of this journey with the rest of the community, and I’m looking forward to gaming with all of you over the course of this year.
