What’s Available?:
Lock and Load Outpost UK will be the first place in the UK that you will be able to buy the new edition of Warmachine and Hordes.
The new Warmachine and Hordes books will be on pre-sale, as well as the Battlegroup sets, the new card decks and other exclusive collectibles.
As per Privateer Press’ system, you will be able to stop by the sales area at your leisure where there will be a pre-pay order form that you can fill out, and we will handle your order.
On Sunday morning, immediately after the keynote presentation, there will be a release station set up where you can pick up all of the items you’ve ordered.
As quantities on many items will be limited, initially we can only allow attendees to purchase a maximum of one of each item. After all attendees have had a chance to order, any remaining stock will go back on offer for those that may want duplicates.
Releasing alongside the new core rulebooks—WARMACHINE: Prime and HORDES: Primal—will be twelve new Faction Decks, one for each faction in the games. Each Faction Deck contains copies of every stat card previously released for that faction, updating a player’s entire card collection to the new edition.
Additionally, nine new Battlegroup Starter Boxes will be available at launch, and each one will introduce a new warcaster or warlock character to the games along with all the models needed to form a complete starting battlegroup. Warcasters and Warlocks are the leaders of their factions and greatly influence the performance of the player’s army on the tabletop. The Battlegroup Starters, offered at $39.99 MSRP, will also contain a Rules Digest, a Basic Training Tutorial Guide, four dice, model stat cards, a Battle Map, an obstacle card, tokens, a flexible 18” ruler, a 22-page Introductory Guide featuring army building advice, a hobby painting tutorial, a faction strategy guide, and new fiction about the warlock or warcaster in the box.
The Hobby Lounge:
The L&L:Outpost Hobby Lounge will offer those looking for time away from the tables, or who prefer the more artistic side of the hobby a chance to hang out and share their painting knowledge in a friendly and relaxed environment.
Pull up a chair and use the paints provided to work on existing projects, or maybe start a new battle box in readiness for the just announced edition of Warmachine and Hordes. All paint is provided, but attendees will need to bring their own models and brushes.
We will also have some conversion opportunities, with a chance to assemble a truly unique miniature from the parts pile. If you want advice on pinning, green stuff gap filling or how to best assemble the wide variety of miniature materials PP utilise, this is your chance to learn.
The ever popular speed painting event will also be making an appearance, with painters being given 30 minutes to create a masterpiece. We will provide all the paint, brushes and miniatures for this, with several heats running throughout the weekend, cumulating in a Sunday master paint off.
Finally, for those already skilled with the brush, we will be hosting a Golden Thrall painting competition. Entrants can submit a single figure, single large figure or unit/battle group into the competition, with gold, silver and bronze coins up for grabs to those who make the grade.
Watching over proceedings, our trained brush wielder Jon Webb will be on hand to offer advice, guidance and generally chat about the creative aspects of wargaming.
The Hobby Lounge will be open from 12:00 – 18:00 on Friday, 10:00 – 18:00 on Saturday and 10:00 – 17:00 on Sunday.
Iron Arena:
Iron Arena will be an area in Lock and Load dedicated to playing casual games and earning skulls for every game you play and turn them in for amazing prizes! The more games you play, the more skulls you earn. And the more skulls you earn, the more swag you take home. “Iron” Mike and his hardy crew will be on hand to make sure it all runs smoothly and the swag flows.
There will also be some BIG prizes available on the weekend for you to work those Skulls towards. Of course what those prizes are is a closely guarded secret but you won’t be disappointed.
Keynote:
The Lock & Load Outpost UK is more than just games, painting and new releases. The best part might just be the Keynote to see what’s on the horizon and the Q&A afterward, that can also earn you the Lock & Load exclusive Colbie minature!
The catch however is we want to reward the dedicated Privateer fans so Colbie will be an extra incentive to get up (or just stay up!) and watch the live 5am broadcast of the Privateer Press Keynote on Sunday morning so make sure you’re up early!
Every attendee who joins us for the Keynote will receive a Colbie miniature. We hope you can join us for even more exclusives that you will not want to miss.
