Lock & Load GameFest 2015 is almost here, and you know what that means: it’s time for us to fight!
No, really. I’m serious. If you’re coming to Lock & Load this year, we’re going to fight. Getting the chance to hang out with our community and throw down for some tabletop combat is an opportunity that all of us here at Privateer Press look forward to. Spoiler alert: We love playing our games as much as you do, and getting to play games with all of you is always super-exciting.
If you want a game with a staff member, don’t be shy—just ask! If we’re busy or unavailable at that exact moment, we’ll let you know. There is never any harm in asking. Chances are good, though, that if you show up to Lock & Load looking to get a game with a staff member, you’ll get your shot. Personally, I’m going to bring a Blindwater Congregation army to the show, led by my favorite fishy villain, Rask. I’ll be looking to play a few games after my duties at the show are done each day, and trust me, I won’t be the only one.
In addition to playing games, it’s also good to just chill and hang out with the community. You may have noticed that Lock & Load this year introduces the idea of “hangouts.” These are exactly what they sound like: a chance for you to just relax and hang out with us while we talk about some of our favorite topics.
On Sunday, I’ll be relaxing and talking people’s ears off at the “Setting the Scenario: Building Scenarios for Organized Play” hangout. If chatting about Steamroller, leagues, book release events, No Quarter scenarios, and so on is your thing (and it’s definitely mine!), you should come and chat for a bit. Maybe we can even draft up some new scenarios (narrative, competitive, whatever) to playtest and release in the future!
We look forwarding to seeing you all, playing games with you all, chatting with you all, and just having a blast with you all. See ya at Lock & Load!
