As promised in my previous blog, I have made the most festive of holiday miniatures: the dread Krampus! This project sort of sprawled. Initially, I was just going to slap a Night Troll’s tongue on a Shadowhorn Satyr and paint it up, but things got…complicated after my coworkers started pitching in with excited and possibly ill-advised ideas. After Will Hungerford demanded I add a sack for the Krampus’ victims, Charles Agel jumped in and offered to craft a special base. I could go on, but really, it’s best seen and not told.

Charles built the tiny corner of a house from scratch, installed an LED, and added the girl from Nightmare’s scenic base (of course). He also re-posed the Satyr’s hand and sculpted the sack. My own hobby skills pale in comparison to his talents, and while I painted the Krampus himself, Charles’ basing work really ties the mini together. The shadow cast by the girl is just amazing.

That said, Charles may have the skills, but I have the sweater…

Happy holidays and Merry Krampus from all of us at Privateer!
