Last week, we got a chance to demo High Command and LEVEL 7 [OMEGA PROTOCOL] to scores of game store owners and employees at a trade show. While Lock & Load attendees got the first chance to play these exciting upcoming games, this was our first chance to demo the games to retailers at large. Just like at Lock & Load, it was a lot of fun watching people experience these games for the first time!
The most entertaining part of demoing WARMACHINE High Command was watching people start to really dig into the mechanics and strategy as they began carefully plotting their industry to support their overarching scheme for conquest. After a turn or two of figuring things out, it was down to the serious business of plotting the best way to capture one territory while repelling a threat to another. Every time I see people play High Command, I get more excited about the game’s August release. I can’t wait for the world to get their hands on it!
While I demoed WARMACHINE High Command, “Oz” Schoonover fought teams of commandos trying to clear Subterra Bravo of his aliens and clones in LEVEL 7 [OMEGA PROTOCOL]. This game is a treat for the eyes, and its strong visual presence really immerses you in the desperate mission of Team Disco and the adrenaline-pumping battle between commando and creature. Just have a look for yourself!

Above, our resident clone guards LEVEL 7 [OMEGA PROTOCOL]. The stand-alone board game comes out in September. If you’re planning on going to Gen Con, though, you can grab LEVEL 7 [OMEGA PROTOCOL], WARMACHINE High Command, and HORDES High Command at the show! If you do, I’ll see you there!
