The dust has finally settled here at Privateer Press, and Lock & Load GameFest 2013 has come and gone. Hundreds of players from all over the world converged at the Red Lion Hotel in Downtown Seattle for three awesome days of gaming. Privateer Press staff pulled out all the stops to create an unforgettable event.

I got a chance to see a lot of gorgeous armies duking it out on custom terrain tables from our studio in Iron Arena, including a few fully painted Convergence of Cyriss armies. There were a ton of friendly faces from all the places I’ve played WARMACHINE over the years, and I caught up with some old friends I haven’t seen in far too long.

If I had to pick one part of Lock & Load that really stands out for me, it would have to be the Iron Painter and Trivia Challenge. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch the video! Watching people gather together and share a couple laughs while our contestants took on some really outrageous challenges was a lot of fun. Handing our winner, Tyson Koch, the very first Prime Axiom was pretty awesome too!

We had hundreds of players come to Seattle to share our excitement. Between tournaments and Iron Arena well over a thousand games of WARMACHINE and HORDES were played during the event. That’s a lot of people throwing down! This year’s event was our biggest and best yet, and we’re already planning ways to make next year’s even better.

Thank you for coming out to Lock & Load GameFest 2013. I hope to see a lot of familiar faces next year and a whole lot of new ones as well. We’ll see you in 2014!
