Machinations: Anomaly has begun!

From now until May 27th, the exciting second season of Machinations will take place at hobby stores and game clubs across the world. Last season, we got our first look at Axis, the Harmonic Enforcer, and Khador players earned a nice little bonus after taking first place in Umbra: the Conquest parade art print.

If you’ve already read the rules, you may have noticed Anomaly has a very different feel than Umbra. Umbra was the season of darkness and the unknown, while Anomaly is the glitch in the system, a season full of oddities and things that don’t seem quite right.

Without giving away too much, the upcoming third season, Entropy, is absolute and utter chaos; and the final season, Equilibrium, is about bringing balance back to a situation that has descended into madness. In a future Insider I’ll go deeper into the concepts that shaped each season.

Speaking of Entropy, it’s time to talk about the unique bridge that will connect season two and season three: the Convergence of Cyriss book release event. This July, as the Convergence of Cyriss models hit store shelves, we’re going to have a very special book release event. You can look forward to seeing the rules and details in about a month, but one aspect I want to mention now is the fiction.

The book release event is going to have its own short story, which will serve as a bridge between Anomaly and Entropy. If you’ve been following the adventures of Rutger Shaw and company, don’t miss this critical piece of fiction in the overall Machinations story.
