The release of HORDES: Gargantuans is right around the corner and hot on its heels is the Gargantuans book release event!
This single-day, casual event is a great way to celebrate the release of the newest HORDES expansion. Not only do you get a chance to win some awesome prizes, but the event rules are a blast and can lead to some really interesting situations.

When I was writing the rules for this event, I knew it needed to feel epic—like gargantuan epic. The event needed to capture the massive scope of the Gargantuans fiction but without requiring players to bring 500 points of models to the table. I knew the event would feature a custom scenario, special achievements, opportunities for terrain makers and hobbyists to show off, and several other sweet features. All that was great, but it needed just a little something extra.
After I finished writing all the features, I was looking for that “cherry on top” and had to answer this question: How do I add another feature to this casual event without overcomplicating things and still get that epic feeling to come across? The solution was actually quite simple and mildly insane—add a second warlock per player at 50 points or less.
Having two warlocks in armies this size is absolutely crazy and a ton of fun. There are so many cool feat, spell, and ability combos; it’s mind-boggling!
Molik Karn with Abuse, Fury, Enrage, and Trainwreck, and affected by Total Annihilation? Sure, why not.
Saeryn channeling Breath Stealer through Rhyas right before she charges the same target and slices off its head? Sounds pretty awesome to me.
Cassius the Oathkeeper and Bloody Barnabas using their feats in unison to murder all single-wound infantry within 12˝ of Barnabas? Yes, please!
The possibilities are endless! Of course, this begs the question: Which crazy combos will you bring to the Gargantuans book release event?
