Steamroller 2013 has arrived!
By this time, I hope you’ve had a chance to pore over Steamroller 2013, Hardcore 2013, and Masters 2013. The process of creating these documents has been a long but incredibly enjoyable experience. I hope that you have as much fun playing these formats as we did creating them.
Speaking of the “we” that did the creating, there’s so many people involved in the design of the new formats the only way I can thank everyone in a timely manner is to. . . well, write an Insider blog about it.
These rule sets are the brainchild of myself, Privateer Press development manager David “DC” Carl, and our organized play consultant Hacksaw (Insider high five Hacksaw! *slap*), but we cannot take all of the credit by any means. The number of people who contributed to the final version you see today is absolutely staggering. Everyone on staff had feedback and thoughts to share, whether their personal experiences during the two staff Steamrollers held in the winter or suggestions that occurred to them while reading over the rules.
Our design team did an absolutely fantastic job making these documents look amazing. I have to give extra special props to Matt Ferbrache and Laine Garret, the architects behind the look of Steamroller. And if you’re worried about your ink supply, we’ve also got some printer-friendly versions coming in the near future.
Most of all, I have to give a ton of credit to the Press Gang and every player who participated in a PG’s beta test of the new rules. The feedback we received from these beta tests truly helped mold and shape Steamroller 2013 into what I think is its best version ever. So a sincere thank you to each and every one of you.
Right then, that’s enough of the sappy stuff. We’ve got new rules for throwing down and wrecking faces. It’s time to find a local event, lay down your favorite army, and start rolling some dice!
