I hate wasting things, which seems to be an inherited trait. My grandfather, father, and uncles all worked in construction, manufacture/design, or metalworking, and each had some form of scrapyard set up at his respective home. Fortunately, working in miniatures makes my scrapyard a little easier to manage.
Recently, I began assembling the House Vyre plastic myrmidon kits and was inspired by the small mound of spare components that was left over.
I knew I wanted to make some kind of wheeled vehicle using only the extra parts from the House Vyre and Shyeel heavy kits. Initially, I thought of making a beetle-like car but quickly realized I would need more parts to make something that large.
With those limitations in mind, the Light Rune Fists from the Daemon were the first parts to catch my eye. It dawned on me that turning them on their sides and filling the gaps between them with putty made a pretty cool-looking motorcycle gas tank.
From there, the rest of the parts just fell into place. Once I had completed most of the myrmicycle, my first thought was to put a Destor Thane on it. However, it was apparent that the myrmicycle was too large, so I compared it to a light myrmidon and found it to be a satisfactory match.
It seemed a little odd to have a lone warjack riding around on the myrmicycle, as it would presumably either race out of its warcaster’s control area or need to run circles around the warcaster like a circus bear on a mini motorcycle. So I scanned my remaining scrap pile and decided to add a sidecar for a warcaster—Gareth seemed to be a good match.
I present to you Gareth and his Gorgon on the myrmicycle!
