By the time the first day of Lock & Load rolled around, Privateer Press staff had put in tons of exhausting work to make it a kick-ass event. However, that fatigue was quickly replaced by excitement on Friday morning when the doors opened and attendees began to arrive.
I spent a lot of my time at the Lock & Load interview area with a number of other video producers and podcasters recording videos and taking pictures. This was a great place to meet lots of cool people and eavesdrop on some awesome interviews.

I also operated a live camera for the Iron Painter event. I apologize for any shaky camera work; it’s hard to shoot correctly while I’m laughing so hard. Here’s a pic of Naaresh giving me some constructive criticism.

Also, this year at Lock & Load one of my responsibilities was to expand the visual scope of the Masters finals so more people could enjoy the game. This involved setting up a camera above the table, which was projected onto a large screen. I felt that both the centralized location of the game and the larger audience presence really added to the drama of the finals and drew me in to the action.

Since projecting the game seems to have been a successful experiment, some of the Privateer Press staffers have already begun kicking around ideas to make it even more impressive at future events. What can you look forward to seeing in the future? You’ll have to attend Lock & Load GameFest 2013 to find out.
See you next year!
