My Fire of Salvation conversion came together really well. I used plastic card and modeling putty to build the armor plates around the collar of the warjack.
Here you can see the major components laid out. The Seneschal banners have been affixed to 1.90 mm brass wire, and I replaced the plastic Crusader loincloth with the metal one from the Fire of Salvation. I was even able to keep all the parts intact, so when it comes time to build the plastic Crusader, I can use its loincloth with the original metal hips from the Fire of Salvation. The attachment points on the legs were cut at an angle to create a wider stance.

The Absolver mace has been repositioned, angled out away from the Fire of Salvation’s body. I used brass rod covered with P3 modeling putty for the handle. The putty allows me to roll the part on a textured surface to create the knurling pattern. The mace head and end cap were then attached to the ends. The fingers were resculpted to fit the angle of the handle, and a larger flame was sculpted atop the Absolver.

It was a painting frenzy to get this thing finished by Saturday. I worked on it during breaks and lunches and a little in the evening each night. I’m pretty happy with the end result.

I had three solid games against Retribution armies. I lost every one, but they were all bloodbaths, so I was satisfied. The invitational was a great time. It was good to see old friends and have a relaxing weekend of gaming and eating. Now I’ve got to start on those Temple Flameguard units begging to be assembled.
